UNDECLARED STUDENT WORK IN SLOVENIA

DEFINITION

We know that undeclared work is very widely spread. Despite all of the government’s attempts to regulate it, it persists. Many students who take a pause year and lose their status take advantage of the opportunity.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS

  • Who regulates undeclared work?
  • How is it regulated?
  • Is undeclared work a must or a choice?
  • What are the reasons that make students take undeclared work?
  • Why do employers decide for this type of employment? What are the benefits for them?
  • What are the penalties for undeclared work?
  • How can the mechanisms of regulating undeclared work be improved?
  • How does undeclared work affect Slovenia’s budget?

DISTRIBUTION OF TASKS

  • Nike will do the interview with a student who does undeclared work and study the act regarding undeclared work.
  • Petra will do the interview with an employer who is involved in undeclared work and answer the fifth question.
  • Blaž will answer the third and sixth question.
  • Katja will answer the first and second question.
  • Sara will answer the seventh and eighth question.

With the help of our professor we found another translation of ‘neprijavljeno delo’ which is, according to Evroterm, more appropriate.

DECISION: To still keep the essence of our problem, we decided to stress undeclared student work. We decided to change the term unregistered work into undeclared work.
