Discussion of issues

Issue 1: Topic of PBL

Slaven: After a long discussion we decided that our topic is airport security.

Airport security has become a very important subject in modern world. Especially after a new type of warfare, terrorism has developed. A turning point was the act of terrorism shown on 11 September 2001 and proved how powerful it can be. After this event airport security became more restricted than ever before. At that point EU started with a new airport security policy, which gave more power to security and police. The security controls are now more common after a new threat, the liquid explosives have emerged. And how does this affect the passengers? Where are the mistakes in new EU Treaty?

Decision 1: Airport security

Issue 2: AIRPORT SECURITY

Research questions:

1. Difference between liquids that are bought outside airport and liquids bought behind security check in Duty free and Travel value shop.

2. Privacy of passengers at security checkpoint?

3. Delays which are a result of queues at security checkpoint.

4. What are the problems of passengers arriving from third countries?

5. What problems can come forward with connected flights?

6. Problems of stores inside international hall.

7. Interpenetrating of EU directive at airports and from customs and security staff.

8. Difference between USA and EU policy.

9. How is at the Ljubljana Airport?

10. How is with shopping on airplane and difference between flights.

Vida Zorko:Anze, good to see that you have rewritten the passage using your own words.
anze:I want to apology for slip with definition. I sent the wrong copy forward and I am aware of the mistake.
Vida Zorko:The questions are well done. What I can't find on your page is the distribution of tasks in the PBL document and the minutes of the meeting. Another thing is that in your definition of the problem you use a citation from a source which you don't acknowledge. This is plagiarism and is sanctioned severely at our faculty. Please make it clear in the text that you are using somebody else'e words and provide the source!!!
